Until now, only Hollywood films have managed to gross more than $2 billion worldwide.
But now, for the first time, an Asian film has achieved this unique milestone, and it is not a Bollywood or Indian film, but a Chinese cartoon or animated film.
Previously, the title of the highest-grossing animated film was held by Inside Out 2, which made a business of 1.7 billion dollars in 2027.
The film, which was released on January 29, 2025, is the 7th film overall to gross over $2 billion.
The film is expected to see further growth as it is released in multiple countries in the coming weeks.
It has now become the sixth highest-grossing film worldwide, surpassing Avengers: Infinity War.
Nee Zaha 2 is also the highest-grossing film of 2025 and is likely to hold this record until the end of the year.
