A monkey has been blamed for a nationwide power outage in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.
According to foreign media, the power breakdown in Sri Lanka started around 11:30 and continued for several hours. Meanwhile, the citizens faced severe hardships, hospitals had to shift to generators in emergency.
According to officials, the power breakdown was caused by a fault in the Ceylon Electricity Board's grid station in southern Colombo.
Sri Lankan authorities say that after 3 hours of effort, power supply has been restored in most areas of the country while engineers and other personnel are busy working for complete restoration.
According to a foreign news agency, Sri Lanka's Energy Minister Kumara Jayakode has blamed a monkey for the disruption in electricity supply across the country.
