A picture of a fish which is usually never seen on the surface of the ocean during the day has gone viral on social media.
Marine biologists from Condrik Tenerife, an NGO, spotted the Black Devil Angler off the coast of Tenerife, Spain.
The question is, what is special about it?
So know that it is really special because this fish is found in deep sea from 200 to 2000 meters depth.
An expert named Laia Valor spotted the fish on January 26 while researching a species of shark.
They observed that the black devil fish was swimming vertically on the surface of the sea.
In fact, this is the first time in the world that an adult black devil fish has been seen at the surface of the ocean in daylight, at least that's what experts claim.
Laia Valor said her team spent a few hours with the fish before it died.
Only dead adult black devil fish have previously been discovered near the surface of the ocean.
Laia Valor said that this was a very rare experience and we may never know why this fish came to the surface from the deep sea.
