Bolivia: 7 students killed when railing collapses at university, video viral


Seven students were killed and five others were seriously injured when a fourth-floor metal railing at a university in the South American country of Bolivia collapsed.

According to the foreign news agency 'AFP', the footage of the accident showed the students standing on the fourth floor of the El Alto University building near the city of La Paz and they were pushing each other. Trying to get to the assembly hall through the narrow passage. Meanwhile, the metal railing on one side could not bear the weight of the students and broke in the middle, as a result of which several students fell to the ground floor.

After the railing broke, fortunately some of the students were caught by their peers in time and they escaped from the accident. Bolivian Health Minister Jason Oza said seven students were killed and five were seriously injured in the crash, some of them out of danger.

The dead and injured students ranged in age from 20 to 24. Bolivian Interior Minister Eduardo del Castillo said he had ordered an investigation into the incident.
