Karachi: Tariq Road Shopping Mall, Liaquatabad Underground Market Sealed.

 

Two shopping malls in Karachi have been sealed for violating Corona Virus Regulations (SOPs).

Police raided Tariq Road, a large shopping mall, while the district administration sealed off the underground market at Liaquatabad Supermarket.

In Karachi, at 6 pm, the Sindh Home Department's orders to close shopping malls were ignored.

Assistant Commissioner Ferozabad sealed a large shopping mall, Dalman, while operating on Tariq Road.

Assistant Commissioner Arsalan Saleem said that a fine has also been imposed on the cell and its management for keeping the shopping mall open on Tariq Road for more than the stipulated time.

Earlier, police were instructed to shut down business on Tariq Road.

On the other hand, the underground market of Liaquatabad supermarket was sealed by the district administration, which started closing business in the important shopping malls around it.

Shops around the Tower and Memon Mosque also began to close at 6 a.m. on the orders of the Sindh government to close shops regarding the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Chairman All Karachi Traders Union Atiq Mir demanded that business be allowed till 8 pm.

He added that the weekly holiday should be limited to Sundays only while the government should provide free masks to traders.

President Electronics Dealers Association Rizwan Irfan said that the right of employment should not be taken away from the traders and they should be allowed to do business from 10 am to 8 pm.

Bolton Market Association President Javed Qureshi said that the business hours from 6 am to 6 pm are disappointing, the short duration will increase the rush in the market, which will increase the coronavirus.
