According to Indian media, more than eight Urdu schools run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have been closed by the Building Engineers Department for repairs a year and a half ago.

In this regard, Ilyas Qureshi, a member of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation School Board, has written a letter to the Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner demanding that the Urdu school in which minor construction work is to be done should be repaired as soon as possible so that children's education is maintained.
