Internet Explorer users should be prepared for this blow

Microsoft, the world's most popular computer technology company, announced in November this year that it would end support for the world's oldest and most popular browser, Internet Explorer.

In August, Microsoft announced in a blog post that Internet Explorer was officially shut down on August 17, 2020, but will continue to provide updates to users using the browser until November 30 this year.

For the same purpose, Chromium Edge browser was also installed in Windows computers using a force Windows Update.

But from next month, Microsoft will be forced to automatically launch hundreds of websites on Edge using Internet Explorer.

According to a report by ZDNet, in recent months Microsoft has quietly added a new DDL file to the Edge installation.

This DDL file is a Browser Helper Object (BHO), such files typically serve as Internet Explorer plugins.

As a result, they will automatically launch on Edge when they try to open 1156 websites on older browsers.

These include several major websites including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, various Google products, Microsoft teams and others, which will be open on Edge instead of Internet Explorer.

According to the Microsoft FAQ page, this change is being introduced in version 87 of Microsoft Edge, which will be introduced in mid-November.

Edge will then automatically try to transfer Internet Explorer browsing data to itself.

Remember that Microsoft initially introduced the Internet Explorer browser 25 years ago in 1995 and it was the only browser at that time.

Internet Explorer has been the hallmark of the Internet for many years, but in 2004 the Mozilla Foundation formally introduced Firefox in its wake.

Although the Firefox browser was developed in 2002, it was introduced to the general public in 2004.

After Firefox, Google surpassed everyone by introducing the Google Chrome browser in 2008.

After Firefox and Google Chrome, Internet Explorer was almost forgotten by people, but Microsoft tried to take back its kingdom in this regard by making the new browser edge similar to Google Chrome.
