Amitabh Bachchan, the king of Bollywood and known as the Big B, is celebrating his 78th birthday today (October 11).
Like every year, this year too, outside Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow on Mumbai's Joho beach, his fans rushed to congratulate him on his birthday.
Born on October 11, 1942 to the famous Hindi poet Hari Vansh Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Hari Vansh Bachchan started his artistic career in 1969 with seven Indians. In 1971, he was introduced in the supporting role in the film Anand with the then superstar Rajesh Khanna and since then he has not looked back, he is still ruling Bollywood.
Amitabh Bachchan's life is full of many ups and downs like any other human being but the incident that took place on July 26, 1982 is considered to be the most important in his life. The shooting of the film 'Qali' was going on this year, it had an action scene that the stunt artist had to do but Amitabh Bachchan said that he would record the scene himself.
According to Indian TV, Amitabh Bachchan had to fall down from a table during the shooting of the scene. When he started falling down, the corner of the table hit his stomach which caused his spleen to burst and he started bleeding profusely. He was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgery, during which it was felt for a few minutes that Amitabh Bachchan had passed away. Doctors then gave him an adrenal injection into his heart, after which he regained his breathing.
Since the incident, Amitabh Bachchan's friends believe that he has been reborn, so they also celebrate Big B's birthday on August 2.
