Cynthia de Richie, an American citizen and blogger, says that only a woman who has been abused in Pakistan is viewed with suspicion. Getting justice in this country is different from other countries.
Cynthia de Richie, an American citizen and blogger, appeared in the District Court of Islamabad for the hearing of the slander case against her against Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Senator Rehman Malik.
"Why am I being asked to be deported? If I'm wrong, prove it," Cynthia de Richie told Geo News.
He said that so far I have not spoken directly to the judge but I would like to do so, I am talking openly about abuse in Pakistan.
Cynthia de Richie said that before today these issues were not discussed in Pakistan, women do not talk about abuse because of honor, dignity and shame.
He said that no message of reconciliation was received from Rehman Malik, Makhdoom Shehab and PPP. Harassment messages have been received on mobile and Twitter recently.
The American citizen further said that former interior minister Rehman Malik has filed a complaint, now why is he absent from the proceedings?
Cynthia de Richie also says that getting justice in this country is different from other countries, the challenging situation makes you stronger.
On this occasion, Cynthia Richie's lawyer Imran Feroze said that he has told the court that there is a fourth hearing and no one is appearing on behalf of Rehman Malik.
He said that no lawyer is appearing on behalf of Rehman Malik, every time it is said that he is not available, the court has ordered the lawyer to appear on behalf of Rehman Malik at the next hearing.
Imran Feroze also said that the court has said that both the parties will discuss the next hearing, the next hearing of the case is on October 10, after the discussion the court will give its verdict.
